The Backstory

Before we dive in, you can call me Laykes!

My career started in 2015 at a digital agency in South Africa. Over the next ten years, I worked across everything from hospitality and weddings to education. While the agency world was a great training ground, I realised the best results come from actually knowing the person behind the business.

The projects that matter most are the ones where I can understand the goals, hear the worries, and get a sense of who is being reached. Rae Creative was built to make that personal connection the priority. There are no middle-men or gatekeepers here. It is just a direct partnership focused on building a brand that feels like the real deal.

Based in a home office in Auckland with a flat white always in reach, I now help businesses move past generic visuals and into design with actual character.

Adding that Personal Touch

From our first chat to the final design, I’m all about creating designs that feel authentic and true to your brand’s vision.

When I'm offline and off the clock, I am:

  • Mountain Bound: Ticking off NZ hiking trails with my husband, mostly for the views (and the post-hike snacks).

  • Caffeine Dependent: At this point, it’s basically a personality trait.

  • Horizontal: Curled up on the couch for a Netflix marathon or a solid book. Minimal movement required.

  • Design Nerd: Deep in an Adobe tutorial hole. I’m a sucker for a new shortcut that makes the "magic" happen faster.

Think we could be a good fit? I'd love to hear from you.
